Reading Musical Notes (pitch)

This page is to help you with the basics of reading musical notes.

These are the first five notes that are normally learned:

(Of course it varys depending on which instrument your child is learning)

And this is the rest of the first octave, to make the first scale, the C Major Scale:

If learning the piano using the “hands together on middle C approach” the first notes learned will be:
